The Fatwa and Legislation Department has exempted some private schools renting government buildings from paying rents during the closure period due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A local Arabic daily said this period is calculated from the day the study was completely halted as of March 1, 2020 the students continued their distance learning (remotely) on August 4 of the same year, reports a local Arabic daily.
The head of the Fatwa and Legislation department Counselor Salah Al-Massad explained the exemption contains two correlative conditions that do not replace one another, “the first of which is to take a precautionary measure to confront the spread of the (Corona) virus, and the second is that this measure entails stopping the activity completely during the period in which it is applied.
