The fast food trucks project is taking shape in the Subbiya renting of which will be based on the area and the estimated cost which will be between 100 and 300 dinars per month.

Informed sources told Al-Anba a small percentage of the company’s revenues will go to the State Treasure in exchange for operating and exploiting the state property, and said the revenue will be calculated through a joint account between the ‘Project Fund’ and the operating company.

The sources said a government meeting was held recently between officials of the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises Development and others in the procurement systems of the Ministry of Finance, to prepare a temporary area of land in the Subbiya area to attract fast food trucks, and establish a drive-in cinema through the SMEs.

The sources pointed out that the project will be completed in phases, and that the first phase will be built on an area of 500,000 square meters and will be completed in about two weeks.

In this regard specialized companies have said it is possible to complete the project within the stipulated time limit in addition to the SMEs Fund confirming the possibility of processing the documents on the specified date as per the Cabinet decision on Dec 1, 2021. The second phase will include sports facilities and rest areas.

The sources indicated that the project does not require infrastructure, as the equipment will be simple, and that it has been agreed with more than 10 government agencies to prepare the site, including the Ministry of Electricity and Water to supply power extensions, the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs to provide green areas and the green belt, in addition to the Ministry of Health and the Directorate-General of Fire Fighting.

The sources pointed out that the meeting discussed the Cabinet’s approval of the duration of the contract which will be 5 years, but the ‘Project Fund’ requested that the contract term be two years, subject to renewal, based on the need to evaluate the project, as it is considered new and cannot be studied.

The source pointed out spaces will be allotted to those who are registered with the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises Development on a priority basis and other spaces will be allocated to other international investors based on the decision of the Municipal Council to add all commercial activities to fast food trucks and establish a drive-in cinema.

The source stated that the project does not conflict with the bid submitted by the Council of Ministers in favor of the Public Authority for Land and Roads Transport regarding the license to plan, develop, complete, maintain and exploit the sites of the Jaber Bridge axis.
