More than 800 houses have been identified for violating the law banning the renting of residences in private or model residential areas to bachelors. Most of these violations were in Farwaniya governorate.

Revealing this data, the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) warned building owners that if they failed to comply with the law and evict the bachelors, electricity to these premises would be disconnected. The ministry pointed out that electricity had been disconnected to 200 buildings so far and 200 more other residences had legalized their status by evicting the bachelors.
