The majority of the streets in the governorate of Farwaniya suffer from severe neglect of its infrastructure which has been ongoing for years, until the streets in most internal areas suffer from potholes, asphalt erosion, and neglect of hygiene, in addition to the environmental disaster represented by “sewage overflowing in some streets.”

The municipality teams tour some of these streets, which suffer from a high population density while other areas are largely neglected. The primary investment areas are crowded with residential buildings with most of them comprising of nine floors in and between four and five apartments on each floor accommodating families of mixed nationalities, reports Al-Jarida daily.

This is in addition to Arab houses accommodating singles or the so-called bachelors.

The population density has crowded the streets and internal roads with cars everywhere, and some streets have reportedly been rented out as car parking during the night.

The municipal teams in these areas are absent and some cars remain parked for months especially in Block 1 in Farwaniya.

The state authorities have neglected the sewage overflow and piles of garbage which gives the area a bad taste and many residents are prone to suffer from waterborne diseases.

The Ministry of Public Works is responsible for neglecting the streets and roads and rainwater drainage outlets, have become environmentally friendly for rodents, stray cats and dogs in several areas.

This is happening in spite of the Municipal cars transporting waste on a daily basis. Neglect has become the norm in those areas, as if you are living in another country that suffers from neglect, dilapidated roads and lack of cleanliness.

The question everyone asks is for how long will the situation persist?
