The Farwaniya Governorate Research and Criminal Investigation Department has solved approximately 10 cases of theft that targeted expatriates by arresting seven-man Arab expatriates who have reportedly admitted to committing these crimes.

The thefts primarily consisted of stealing phones, which the suspects said they sold to buyers from the Farwaniya region and shared the proceeds, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source revealed that several cases of phone and money theft from expatriates had prompted an investigation. The victims testified that they were accosted at night by a group of offenders, who wielded sharp tools and demanded money and phones.

Through rigorous investigations, it was ascertained that these criminal acts were committed by a group of young Arab expatriates. Two of them were caught red-handed and confessed to their involvement and implicated five others.

The stolen items were reportedly sold to a store owned by another Arab expatriate. Upon questioning, the store owner said he was unaware the phones he bought was stolen property but failed to explain why he shipped the purchased phones to his home country for resale, raising suspicions of his complicity.
