The Family Medicine Board trainees and the head of the cultural and entertainment committee of the Association of Family Physicians and General Practitioners representative, Dr. Yousef Al-Rumaih, announced the Family Medicine Marathon 2022 to be held on Saturday, 19 November at Al-Shaheed Park. He said all medical staff in Kuwait, students of the Medical Sciences Center and their families will participate in the event.
Al-Rumaih mentioned that this event is being organized as cooperation between the Association of Family Physicians and General Practitioners and the Family Medicine Training Program, with the support of the Kuwait Medical Association. He added that the event will include a five-kilometer running race, followed by various sports competitions, as a way to encourage and support the physical and psychological health of workers and students in the medical field, as well as creating a competitive and recreational atmosphere outside the framework of hospitals, health centers and the university.
In addition, he revealed to a local daily that various prizes were awarded to the winning participants, with a value of more than 5,000 dinars, between cash prizes and gifts for the winners of the running race, sports challenges and the photography competition.
He expressed his appreciation to the members of the organizing committee, Dr. Sarah Al-Hammoury, Dr. Taiba Al-Hassan, Dr. Walaa Al-Failakawi and Dr. Nasser Al-Qandi. He also thanked the family medicine training program run by Dr. Dina Al-Dhubaib, the Family Physicians Association headed by Dr. Muhammad Al-Azmi, and the Association Medical Center chaired by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Tawala, as well as all sponsors participating in the event
