Fake maid offices are active in a number of bachelor areas, including Hawalli, Mahboula, and Jleeb, which supply domestic workers to homes on a daily wage or monthly salary.
Al-Shahed quoting security sources most of these offices have mushroomed in areas where residents live, who more often than not, live in appalling conditions, unfit for human habitation, and the victims are citizens or this illegal ‘business’.
With the continuation of the campaigns carried out by the Residence Affairs Sector to arrest violators of the Residence Law, and to fight fake employment offices, the security authorities upon instruction of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major-General Anwar Al-Barjas, and the General Administration of Residence Affairs Investigation launched an inspection campaign on public transport companies and buses in Mahboula and arrested 19 violators of residence and labor laws.
The Interior Ministry said all those arrested have been referred to the concerned authority of necessary legal measures to be taken them.
The security sources stressed the continuation of security and inspection campaigns in all regions of the country, to apprehend outlaws, wanted persons, and violators of the residence and labor laws.
In the meantime, the administration has called on all citizens and residents to cooperate with the security authorities, not to shelter violators of residence and labor laws for their own safety, and not to be subject to legal accountability.
