Officials warned against exposure to high pollutants as the Air Quality Monitoring System detected high rates exceeding permissible limits in Al-Salam and Al-Mansouriya areas on Saturday. The monitoring system report of the Environment Public Authority showed an increase in the percentage of PM2.5 pollutants in the afternoon of the same day.

People with respiratory diseases living in the areas ran at high risk from the exposure, especially after staying outdoors for a long period of time as registers of one or more pollutants exceeding the thresholds of national standards have been traced. According to the report, the station recorded 155 of the PM2.5 rate, higher than the normal rate as seen on Friday, whereas the levels began to rise Saturday afternoon.

Furthermore, the monitoring system also recorded a limited excess of pollutants in the Mansouriya region, with the percentage reaching 110. The rate of pollutants recorded in Shuwaikh and Rumaithiya was average.
