The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuwait held “Indonesian Folk Festival” in celebration of the country’s 78th Independence Day anniversary at the Jaber Ahmad hall in Ardiyah. Her Excellency Lena Maryana, Indonesian envoy to Kuwait with more than 500 attendees including members of the foreign diplomatic missions in Kuwait graced the remarkable celebration.

Ambassador Maryana in her opening remarks expressed her gratitude to guests from the ASEAN ambassadors, Asian dialogue partners, international organizations in Kuwait, local government agencies, and the Indonesian diaspora in Kuwait.

The event themed with “Amazing Nusantara” (Amazing Archipelago) showcased ceremonial cutting of the “Tumpeng”, an Indonesian cone-shaped rice dish with side dishes of vegetables and meat originating from Javanese cuisine of Indonesia.

Traditionally featured in a thanksgiving ceremony. The ceremony was followed by visits to all the booths with invited guests and featured traditional ethnic dances, fashion show, culinary exhibitions, and live music performance by the community.
