The Public Authority for Manpower has activated the absenteeism registration system for new residents who hold work permits through the “Ashal” automated system, an Arab daily reported.
Sources indicated that the move would capture violators of random absentee workers and non-compliant workers in the workplace. The Authority added that registering absenteeism on workers aims at apprehending violators, in addition to studying the cases against which notifications are submitted to summon them, find out the reasons and solve problems.
According to the report, about 1,000 cases of absenteeism are being studied by the Inspection Department. The law gives the worker the right to object within two months from the date of the registration of the complaint against them. Once the deadline expires and the worker is not reviewed, the file is transferred to the Residency Affairs Investigation Department in order to take the necessary legal measures, which amount to recording an absence in the Ministry of Interior, and a seizure and summons that would result in the deportation of the violator.
