The Egyptian Minister of Interior, Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, has issued a decree published in the Egyptian Official Gazette (Al-Waqa’i), mandating the expulsion of a Kuwaiti national from Egypt in what the Egyptians termed “public interest.”
The directive, No 1896 of 2023, is grounded in Law No. 89 of 1960 concerning the entry, stay, and departure of foreigners in Egypt and its subsequent revisions, as well as the memorandum from the General Administration of Passports, Immigration, and Nationality concerning the request for the deportation of the Kuwaiti individual, reports Al-Rai daily.
