The Drug Inspection Department of the Ministry of Health in cooperation with personnel from the Public Authority for Manpower and the ministries of Interior, Commerce and Industry and the Drug Inspection and the Health Licensing departments of the ministry has issued 1,646 violations against some private medical centers and clinics and nutritional supplement stores during the past year, due to the presence of unregistered medicines and cosmetics and materials whose validity had expired.
Al-Qabas quoting Health Ministry sources stated 1,256 violations have been issued against private pharmacies, 104 against private medical centers and clinics, 125 against food supplement stores, 81 against veterinary drug stores, 51 against medical companies and their warehouses, and 29 violations against the perfume shops.
The sources added that it was noticed that some workers in these clinics were not specialists and did not hold licenses issued by the Ministry of Health to practice the profession.
The Ministry affirmed that the Drug Inspection Department of the Drug Control Sector closely monitors and follows up the safety and quality of existing and consumed medicines and medical and pharmaceutical products in different places, including pharmacies, hospitals, companies, clinics, and other places in the governmental and private sectors.
