The Director General of the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation Eng. Imad Al-Jalawi, said the administration is fully committed to ensuring a seamless travel experience for all passengers arriving and departing from the country during the summer season, which extends until next September while at the same time emphasizing that the Kuwait International Airport is well-prepared to handle approximately 6 million outgoing and incoming passengers.

Al-Jalawi revealed that extensive plans have been put into action to prepare for the summer season in close collaboration with all agencies operating at the airport, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The months of June and July witnessed a significant aircraft movement with nearly 22 thousand flights, comprising 10,511 flights in June and 11,465 flights in July. During these two months, around 3 million passengers – transit, outbound and inbound — were accommodated.

Looking ahead, the expected air traffic for August and September this year is estimated to carry about 3 million passengers through 23,194 flights and as part of the summer plans, Kuwait International Airport has taken measures to streamline the travel process for passengers arriving and departing from the country.

Al-Jalawi expressed gratitude for the cooperation of all agencies operating at the airport, which has facilitated smooth operations for departing and arriving flights. They have worked together to ensure efficient traffic flow, implementing a seamless work plan and mechanism during the summer vacation season, eliminating any potential obstacles.

Safety remains a top priority, and Al-Jalawi emphasized the commitment of the DGCA to uphold the highest security and safety standards at the airport. These measures are in place to safeguard all flights, passengers, and airport personnel, ensuring a secure travel environment.
