The President of the Civil Service Commission, Maryam Al-Aqeel, issued a circular canceling the ‘departure notice’ requirement to pay the end of service for expatriate employees in the government sector.

A local Arabic daily said the circular to government agencies stated that the CSC’s decision to cancel the requirement to produce a departure notice came in implementation of the ruling of the Constitutional Court, whereby the end of service must be paid to non-Kuwaiti employees as soon as the service ended as per the terms of the service contract which has nothing to do with leaving the country and reward disbursement.

Al-Aqeel called on government agencies to take settlement procedures and pay the end of service gratuity, taking into account the decision of the aforementioned service council.
