The Customer Services Department at the Ministry of Electricity and Water is intensifying their efforts to collect overdue fees from customers who have failed to pay their power bills. To aid this effort, the Ministry of Electricity and Water has begun issuing warning letters to defaulters and has warned that they will be cutting off water supply if the dues are left unpaid. They also informed that the suspension of supply will not apply to the residential sector.

Informed sources in the ministry told a local Arabic daily, that the ministry is currently cutting off its services for its clients who have signed debt documents but did not commit to paying their bills in instalments.

On the other hand, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Eng. Khalifa Al-Farij, honored the Customer Services Department and the Department of Inspection and Audit Office on the occasion of obtaining their ISO certification.
