The Health Insurance Hospitals Company (Daman) has inaugurated its fifth primary health care center in the Fahaheel area of the Ahmadi Governorate as per the requirements of the Ministry of Health in terms of providing health care at the primary health care centers.

In a statement to reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration, the company’s Board Chairman Mutlaq Al-Sanea said this is the biggest Daman center in Kuwait and the largest in terms of the number of operating clinics to meet the needs of health care services, reports a local Arabic daily.

Al-Sanea added that the center is an essential element in the company’s plan to establish an integrated health system that includes hospitals with a 600-bed capacity and primary care health centers distributed in all governorates to serve the national health care strategy aimed at improving the level of health services and reducing financial and administrative burdens on government agencies.

He explained that the company is currently working to finalize the requirements for opening two hospitals in the Jahra and Ahmadi governorates at the beginning of the first quarter of next year, which will be operated in cooperation with the Spanish company “Ribera Salud”, which has been an expert in providing health care for more than 30 years in Spain and a number of countries.

He stated that Daman Company is considered the largest project of the development plan in the State of Kuwait, and has a capital of 230 million Kuwaiti dinars (about 690 million US dollars), and the first initiative to support the medical sector in Kuwait, which is considered one of the “largest sectors depleting the state’s general budget.”

Al Sanea added Daman will work to raise health care indicators, achieve a qualitative leap for the health sector, reduce financial and administrative burdens on government agencies, in addition to supporting economic diversification through health care by providing health care services to residents working in the private sector (Article 18) and their families.
