The Customs Department plans to raise the customs duties on nicotine liquids, e-cigarettes and electronic hookahs to between 95 and 100 percent instead of the 5 percent as of March 1, 2022.

Al-Anba quoting reliable sources said the decision to raise customs duties was supposed to be enforced from January 1, but the Ministry of Finance decided to postpone it to March.

The sources in General Administration of Customs said this is done in line with the unified customs tariff schedule for 2022 for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and its implementation as of the beginning of this year in the member states, which is the 100% customs duty on one-time use nicotine cartridges (flavored and unflavored), and liquid or gel packets containing nicotine (flavored or unflavored).
