The General Administration of Customs has set new controls for the movement of goods trucks, whether those leaving Kuwait or those transporting goods from ports to various centers inside the country.

Al-Rai said the movement of trucks will be done by an electronic tracking device that will set a specific time limit for each truck to abide by to avoid paying fine.

Director of the Department, Suleiman Al-Fahd, has issued instructions to customs authorities regarding setting a specific time period for the passage of transport and goods inside Kuwait, according to the department’s electronic tracks tracking and monitoring system, where trucks are tracked from the point of departure from the customs port until they reach the final access point, to ensure that the trucks move on the tracks designated for them, within the specified time limit.

The instructions stipulate fines for violators of truck owners — 400 dinars penalty for removing or unlocking the electronic tracking chip, and 50 dinars for deviating from the specified path of the truck or delay in passing within the specified period.

The fine is collected directly at the final customs port under a settlement annex, in order to ensure the speedy completion of the transport procedures without delay.

The exact time for trucks between ports and centers

1 – From Nuwaiseeb or Salmi port to Abdali port (4 hours)
2 – From Nuwaiseeb or Salmi outlet to Sulaibiya Center or Vegetable Market (2 hours and 30 minutes)
3 – From Nuwaiseeb port to the air customs warehouse ‘NAS’ (2 hours)
4 – From Shuwaikh port to Sulaibiya Vegetable Center (one hour)
