Imposing a curfew is an option on the table, government spokesman Tareq Al-Mezrem said Thursday, and it was subjected to compliance of people with Council of Ministers’ ban of gatherings.
The government held a meeting yesterday and began by discussing the curfew option, Al- Mezrem told a news conference, and its imposition was primarily “subjected to the opinion of health authorities and degree of spread of virus.
“The government is serious in taking all preventive measures to confront the spread of the virus,” he said and cited some “bold” resolutions since beginning of this crisis to prevent gatherings.
Al-Mezrem urged citizens and expatriates to abide by the gatherings’ ban decision “in a drive to help contain the virus.”
