A ban that existed on recruiting foreigners to fill posts in the ministry of health has been lifted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) following the discovery that there were no applications from suitable nationals to fill the vacancies.

The CSC is reported to have now given the go-ahead to the Ministry of Health to hire expatriates to fill 193 vacancies that include 42 doctors, five pharmacists, 13 technicians and 133 nurses. Earlier the CSC had issued a directive stopping the ministry from filling these vacancies until the end of the period set for finding suitable workers for these posts from among nationals.
