The Civil Service Commission has approved the proposal of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, regarding obtaining sick leave without medical consultation, through electronic platforms, to facilitate citizens and reduce pressure on primary health care centers or medical personnel.
The Minister of Health’s proposal specified the controls for granting sick leave, such that the employee receives leave with full salary for the first fifteen days, half salary for the next fifteen days, a quarter of salary for the third fifteen days, and without pay for the last fifteen days.
The proposal also requires that the duration of sick leave granted to the employee through electronic means does not exceed 3 days per month.
