A large crowd gathered at the fish market in Sharq today following the municipality’s decision to open the market, reported Al Rai daily.

Many were eager to buy local fish, and  were disappointed that the market remained closed. The Sharq Fish Market is slated to open on  Wednesday, in coordination with the concerned authorities. Customers must make an appointment on the website, and show a barcode in order to enter the fish market.

Al Rai reported that the decision to open the market arrived late Sunday, at the time when there was no ready plan to open the market, or ways to organize the entry process in accordance with the health requirements set by the Council of Ministers. This requires setting up anti-coronavirus measures to prevent crowding, whether inside or outside the market. The details will be made clear after a meeting to be held before noon today with authorities.
