The Criminal Court has set January 11, 2022, to look into the case of Dr Safaa Zaman, President of the Information Security Association.

Al-Qabas quoting Prosecution sources said Dr. Zaman faces 3 state security charges — spreading news that can harm the prestige of the state, creating panic in society and damaging international relations — charges that carry up to 10 years in prison if found guilty.

The Public Prosecution decided to refer Dr Zaman to court after she was interrogated and released on bail.

Dr Zaman has denied all the charges against her after making a statement that all employees’ data is stored on “servers” outside Kuwait, specifically in Egypt.

Zaman had maintained her innocence throughout the investigations saying she did not intend to offend the relationship between Kuwait and Egypt, but rather the motive in publishing this information was love for the homeland and to preserve the nation’s secrets.
