Despite the ongoing COVID-19 infection that has literally shutdown the country, assiduous officials from Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) recently embarked on an inspection campaign covering shops, hair-cutting salons and café joints to ensure compliance with the Council of Ministers order to close them. Director of Manpower Protection at PAM Dr. Mubarak Al- Ja’afour affirmed that the officials also focused on private companies to see if they were violating the order to close down.

For his part, the Deputy Director of Manpower Protection at PAM Dr. Mubarak Al-Azmi affirmed that the sector dealt with 286 complaints and permanently shut down 12 establishments for violating the decision of the Council of Ministers. He said the actions took place during inspection tours conducted in all governorates from 25 February until 16 March. He added that licenses of the affected establishments will be withdrawn whereas expatriates involved are liable to deportation.
