The extended planned new look entertainment city on the coast, on an area of 2.570 million square meters, is one of the huge projects that once fell within the scope of the Tourism Projects Company, and is now under the custody of the Minister of Finance, who was recently tasked by the Council of Ministers to implement the project as quickly as possible, in coordination with a number of government agencies Especially, because of the project’s economic and social importance, as it is the huge recreational outlet that families used to visit from all Gulf countries, and on holidays, children, men and women of different groups and ages, reports a local Arabic daily.

The daily spoke to some experts and specialists in economic, psychological and social affairs to consider the importance of the project in all its aspects, and the expected date for its completion in light of the government’s serious orientation to move the wheel of development and start a new era of reform and reconstruction in all fields.

Member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry Osama Al-Nisf confirmed said that “communities need entertainment projects, especially if they are successful and integrated. The new projects are among the major development projects that will achieve Kuwait’s Vision 2035.”

He stressed the need to establish such projects, as they contribute effectively to meeting the needs of society and strengthening the state’s economy, hoping to overcome all obstacles to implement the project within a specified period of time.

Dr. Khaled Al-Rasheed, a faculty member at the College of Engineering at Kuwait University, described recreational places as “the backbone of tourism in any country,” considering that “entertainment is the main element for attracting tourists, and one of the centers of the economy, and contributes to maintaining the citizen and resident in the country during the summer months.”

Al-Rasheed added the project is in line with Kuwait’s 2035 vision, and there should be 5 similar projects distributed over the governorates, in which games and entertainment are diversified, as they are an essential thing in development, stressing that when the integrated city is established, one of its most important components is entertainment, and it must be skipped.

He explained that the entertainment cities are a suitable haven for families to gather, where the father goes out with his children and the mother with her children, so it must be comprehensive in all respects and include various games that are suitable for all groups and ages, stressing the need for them to be of an entertaining, educational and cultural nature for the benefit of the family.

Professor of Psychology at Kuwait University, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, expressed her deep thanks to the Council of Ministers for perceiving the needs of the citizen, through the decision to accelerate the new entertainment city project, stressing that recreational projects are necessary to get rid of the pressures of life, study and work in any society.

Al-Huwailah hoped that the project would be completed within one year at most, so that Kuwait would return to being an incubator for families from all neighboring countries as in the past, explaining that the implementing agency could accomplish it during this period through cooperation with specialized companies to provide it with various games and include them. Everything a family needs.

She expressed her hope to benefit from the experiences of some countries that built huge tunnels and bridges within a record and limited period.
