The Council of Ministers urged the In-charge of government agencies to quickly coordinate with the Ministry of Finance about the ministry’s decision on the “general reserve” and find radical solutions to confront the deficit in the state’s general budget, Al-Rai daily reported.
The Cabinet held its weekly meeting on Monday at Seif Palace under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled.
The Cabinet began its meeting by extending the highest congratulations and blessings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the occasion of the first anniversary of His Highness’s assumption of power, which will fall on next Wednesday.
The Cabinet listened to an explanation given by His Highness the Prime Minister on the results of his participation in the meeting of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York, representing His Highness the Amir, during which he delivered the State of Kuwait’s speech, which dealt with the most prominent regional and international issues, including the Corona pandemic and its repercussions among others. It was related to food security and education and its negative impact, especially on countries that have fewer information technology services. He also touched on the Palestinian issue, the Yemeni crisis, the situation in Iraq, the Syrian crisis, in addition to the Libyan issue.
