The Ministry of Education tends to use special electronic devices to correct tests, within the framework of developing the educational process, and the accuracy and speed of completing the processes of correcting students’ tests.
In this context, the ministry has officially requested the competent authorities to float a tender for the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of equipment to correct the tests, with a commitment to training and technical support, as the contract will be signed with the specialized company winning the tender, according to the legal procedures followed in this regard, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Educational sources told the daily the tender is for the National Center for Education Development, as these devices will be installed in the center’s building, which organizes tests to measure the level of students in the elementary and intermediate stages in the fifth and ninth grades in Arabic and English subjects, in addition to mathematics and science. The center provides international tests for “TIMSS” and “PIRLS”, in addition to the national “MEEZA” tests for students.
The sources pointed out that the aim of these devices is the speed and accuracy of completing the process of correcting the tests, pointing out that the concerned authorities in the ministry will follow up on the success of the idea of using these devices and the possibility of applying them to students’ tests in the different educational stages.
It is noteworthy that the center organizes international measurement tests such as “TIMSS” and “PIRLS”, in addition to the national “MEEZA” tests, which the center established to assess the level of students in the primary and intermediate stages.
