The US recorded Thursday over 27,000 coronavirus cases and 1,779 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University tally.
The figures pushed the overall infections nationwide to 1,417,777 and the death toll to 85,898.
New York remains the epicenter with 343,051 cases and 27,641 deaths.
