Indian government sources said on Friday that total corona positive cases in the country stood at 1,003,832 and the death toll total stood at 25,602.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in its latest update that 687 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours from across the country while 34,956 fresh positive cases were reported in the same period.
Data from the ministry showed that 635,757 people have recovered from the deadly disease as 35 Indian states are under the grip of coronavirus. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, New Delhi, Telangana, Karnataka, Assam and Bihar are among the worst affected Indian states.
The government has asked people, governments, and local authorities to take all necessary precautions as the nation entered into the second phase of unlocking, adding guidelines in the containment zones should be followed strictly.
