After the Eid al-Fitr holidays, the Ministry of Health is considering allocating one primary health care center in each health region for anti-Corona vaccinations, instead of the current 19 health spread all over the country, provided that the Mishref Vaccination Center continues to receive those who wish to get vaccinated.

A local Arabic daily quoting sources, said this trend coincides with the recent lifting of restrictions related to the Corona virus as a result of the improvement in the general epidemiological situation in the country compounded with daily decrease in the rate of infections.

The same sources said citizens and residents at those centers will be given Moderna doses which is distinguished by its efficiency in protecting against the virus up to approximately 92%, in addition to the fact that the protective ability of the virus starts from the 14th day after receiving the first dose, and its ability also to repel mutants such as Delta and Omicron.

The sources pointed out that the ministry is moving to create specialized clinics for the elderly affiliated to the Primary Health Care Administration, and in each health center, their number will reach about 100 clinics, indicating that workers in the elderly clinics provide all health, psychological, rehabilitation and social care, and follow the patient especially if they had complications from Corona infection or other diseases during the pandemic period.

The sources stated that the Ministry is keen to train doctors and the nursing staff in the skills of early detection, diagnosis and treatment of the most common diseases among the elderly.
