The head of the Kuwait Society of Engineers, Faisal Al-Atl, said that the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Hamad Al-Adwani has agreed to the association’s proposal to establish a permanent mechanism for disbursing engineers’ allowances.
Al-Atl explained this on the sidelines of Al-Adwani’s meeting and added saying, “We appreciate the approval of the minister to form a joint committee to implement the initiative to appoint engineers in the field of teaching scientific subjects in the educational sector, and the ministry’s readiness to participate in the Academic Council for the approval of engineering qualifications, which the association is working on forming during the coming period in cooperation with Kuwaiti engineering expertise and representatives of government agencies, reports Al-Qabas daily.
He referred to informing the minister of the association’s desire to revive the joint committee between the “Engineering Education” of the association and the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance, which has been suspended for several years despite the results achieved in the field of accreditation of engineering qualifications.
