The Cabinet has given the nod for the formation of a coordinating committee to boost non-oil revenues, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.

The committee members will include the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Minister of Finance, and Director of the Macroeconomics and Financial Policy Department at the Ministry of Finance.

The task of the new committee will be:

— To consider all issues related to enhancing and maximizing the state’s non-oil revenues, examining work mechanisms and proposals submitted by various parties in this regard, and directing them as required by the higher interest of the country.
— Supervise the follow-up of the actions taken by government agencies to maximize their revenues and overcome the obstacles that they may face.
— Forming work teams to support it in order to accomplish its tasks (if necessary).

The formation of the committee came after reviewing the results of the coordination meeting on the promotion of non-oil revenues, which aims to set priorities and discuss urgent issues, proposals and initiatives related to the promotion and maximization of non-oil state revenues, and ways to benefit from them in a way that guarantees the achievement of the state’s aspirations in this regard, and to put the necessary plans into effect. .

The coordination meeting witnessed the affirmation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the great interest attached by the political leadership and His Highness the Prime Minister and their wise directives with regard to expediting the treatment of all existing conditions in government work, and accelerating the pace of work and completion of government projects.

The following topics were discussed:

— Investment projects in cities, regions and residential suburbs in the State of Kuwait
— A project for the governance of industrial and vocational lands in the State of Kuwait.
— Kuwait Medical City and Al-Sabah Medical Area projects.
— Project (Sovereignty Fund).
