A condolence meeting was held on December 12 in the Embassy auditorium, to express solidarity and to pay homage to Indian Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Bipin Rawat, Mrs. Madhulika Rawat, and the officers of the Indian armed forces martyred in the recent helicopter crash in India. The Indian community attended in large numbers to pay their homage to the departed souls.

Addressing the community Indian ambassador said “I join the Indian community in Kuwait in expressing my heartfelt condolences on the demise of our Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife Madam Madhulika Rawat, and eleven officers of the armed forces whom we lost in the tragic helicopter crash in Coonoor in Tamilnadu last week.

As India’s first CDS, Gen Rawat worked on diverse aspects relating to the armed forces including defence reforms. He brought with him a rich experience of serving in the Army. India will never forget his exceptional service, stated Indian Ambassador.

Ambassador also told the community that condolence messages were received from all across the globe. In Kuwait, messages have been sent to Hon’ble Rashtrapatiji by His Highness Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait and His Highness Mishaal Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, The Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait.
