Al-Ujairi Scientific Center said next Wednesday will witness the end of the winter cold completely, and the weather tends to get hot during the day, and signs of spring begin to appear on the plants.
The center added, in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), today, that this atmospheric inversion is linked to the start of the intimate season, which lasts until the second of next April, and comes immediately after the season of scorpions and before the season of arms, reports Al-Rai daily.
He explained that it was called Al-Hamim due to the feeling of heat after the cold of winter. Some divide the season into two parts, Al-Hamim, the first and the second, and call it Al-Hamimeen, just as night and day are equal in the middle of this season.
He mentioned that the spring equinox will be in the intimate season, in which day and night are equal, and the sun perpendicular to the equator and begins to rise north at this time, taking into account some minor differences in locations according to latitude, noting that there are two main factors that control the length of day and night, which are the sun’s inclination from the equator and geographical latitude.
He indicated that the equality between night and day in all parts of the earth will be when the sun is on the equator. The center said that the late Kuwaiti astronomer Dr. Saleh Al-Ujairi, may God have mercy on him, stated in his research and previous studies that Al-Hamim is one of the annual seasons known for its weather fluctuations.
He pointed out that this season is witnessing a gradual rise in temperatures, and its days are interspersed with thunderstorms and gatherings of cumulus clouds, while the next month begins with the Sarayat, known for its intensity.
