Hundreds of Asian communities took to Al Khaleej Street in the past two days to celebrate Christmas by gathering in parks and on the beaches, Al Qabas reported.
Despite the decision of the concerned authorities to close Churches to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, a large number of members of these communities were keen to be in the vicinity of churches to pray in the open air, and to share in the spirit of the occasion with joyful celebrations. However, people in these gatherings showed a disregard for social distancing, which may have increased the risk of transmitting the coronavirus infection.
