As the forthcoming academic year 2023/2024 is set to commence next Sunday, educational authorities in the field of “Education” have ramped up their efforts to ensure that schools are fully prepared for the start of classes.
In this context, reliable educational sources have disclosed to Al-Jarida daily that the Ministry has established an “online” communication center dedicated to receiving complaints or feedback from school administrations regarding maintenance and air conditioning-related tasks.
It’s worth noting that these reports can be submitted through “WhatsApp” and email channels designated for the educational institutions sector. The Education department is working diligently around the clock to address these concerns.
Additionally, educational sources have highlighted the provision of contact information for maintenance engineers in various educational regions. Each engineer is assigned a specific set of schools to oversee maintenance and air conditioning tasks. School administrations can directly reach out to these engineers for prompt assistance.
The Educational Facilities Sector has disseminated information within the public education system regarding the communication mechanisms and contact details to be shared with schools.
Furthermore, to ensure timely response and resolution, distinct complaint numbers have been assigned for each of the two educational districts to report any issues arising from a lack of action or negligence by those responsible for school maintenance. School administrations have multiple avenues for reporting breakdowns and requesting necessary maintenance, guaranteeing that these tasks are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Regarding air conditioning maintenance, it has been confirmed that companies are actively engaged in servicing air conditioning systems in schools, whether they operate under a central system or utilize separate units and chillers.
According to reports, completion rates have surpassed 85% of the total number of air conditioning devices. It is anticipated that all maintenance work will be finalized before the end of the current week.
In a related matter, the existence of air conditioning contracts has proven instrumental in addressing issues concerning the upkeep and operation of these devices. The “facilities” sector is set to activate all air conditioning units in schools starting from today, Sunday, to inspect them, ensure their functionality, and create a conducive environment for teachers as they return to work next week.
With regard to water cooler maintenance, ongoing operations are in progress, and water filters have been procured and delivered to schools. The installation of new filters will commence once the school staff resumes work to ensure thorough cleaning of water tanks and the provision of clean water for students and teachers.
The facilities sector, along with its teams of engineers and assistant engineers collaborating with contracted companies, is fully committed to completing maintenance and air conditioning tasks. Teams formed by the public education sector from school administrations are also actively engaged in monitoring and reporting any issues or inaction by companies to ensure the timely completion of work.
School administrations that diligently oversee their schools and regularly report obstacles, problems, and observations play a crucial role in this process, especially considering the substantial number of government schools, exceeding 900 schools encompassing general education, private schools, special education, and religious education.
