The Corona Emergency Committee of the Council of Ministers, in coordination with the other concerned authorities, is seeking to entice the 18 percent of the population in Kuwait who have so far refused to be vaccinated as the health authorities are striving to continue to improve the epidemiological situation and protect the country from the new Corona mutant, Omicron.
Government sources told Al-Qabas the proportion of those who reject to be vaccinated is normal and that there are attempts to change their perceptions about vaccination, while at the same time revealing about 230,000 residents and citizens have taken the third booster dose.
The same sources said the government is doubling efforts to speed up the pace of booster dose with the Corona Emergency Committee sending SMS to citizens and residents reminding them that they are eligible to receive the third dose if they have completed six months after taking the second Corona vaccination to enhance societal immunity in light of the spread of mutants globally.
Meanwhile, Kuwait continues to take preventive measures at the Kuwait International Airport and border crossings, as the Ministry of Health and field teams tighten control and follow-up operations in complexes and public places, to ensure health requirements are adhered to.
