The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf has asked to form a committee to evaluate the performance of security officials holding the rank of Major-General and Brigadier-General, in preparation to force dozens of them to retire.
A well-informed security source told a local Arabic daily, the Interior Ministry has refused to delve into details and also refused to give the names of the members of the committee and their job description, saying only that the committee will submit names of senior officers who did not perform their duties up to the mark will be identified and a quick decision will be taken to refer either refer them to the ministry’s office or into retirement.
