The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has stated that its teams have inspected 65 cooperative societies, supermarkets and pharmacies to ensure the flow of purchases and food deliveries and price stability.

In a press statement on Thursday, the ministry pointed out that its teams also visited 78 subsidized food outlets and vowed that it will continue to dispatch its inspection teams around the country during the coronavirus lockdown measures.

Some 131 consumer complaints were received by the ministry on its 135 hotlines.

The need to comply with laws and regulations amid these unprecedented circumstances was strongly underlined, and the ministry warned it would be on the lookout for those seeking to take advantage of the current situation.
