The Ministry of Commerce and Industry made it clear that it had discovered a hacking attempt two weeks ago, and several security measures were taken to control these attempts. Based on the foregoing, the Ministry of Commerce would like to reassure its esteemed followers and visitors.

Immediately after the discovery of the breach, a strict security protocol was implemented by closing access to all sites and ports through the network, reports Al-Jarida daily.

None of the data of companies, institutions, transactions, or anything that would affect the business or transactions of citizens and residents has been encrypted.

The Ministry is taking stricter measures to enhance the strength of the network and electronic systems. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is exposed daily to hundreds of hacking and disruption attempts, like other public and private entities.

The hacking attempt was discovered two weeks ago with the “Ransomware Lockbit” virus, and it entered the network through two personal computers, and they were immediately disconnected.

The displayed data was pulled from personal computers, and the hackers were unable to access the ministry’s systems or disrupt their effectiveness.
