Amidst the increasing temperatures and the growing popularity of water sports, the General Administration of the Coast Guard has issued a timely reminder regarding the necessary regulations to ensure safety and responsible navigation.

The Coast Guard has highlighted some essential guidelines for boat users, saying it is mandatory for the captain of a cruiser to be at least 18 years old, and all individuals on board must wear life jackets while keeping a safe distance from the shore.

Before setting sail, it is essential to check weather conditions and adhere to any restrictions on sea travel. The instructions issued by the Ministry of Interior include the following — ensuring the boat’s hull and engine are well-maintained, have an ample supply of fuel, food, and water, the vessel equipped with a marine compass, and ensure the presence of life jackets.

For added safety, it is advisable to have at least two people on board and strictly avoid prohibited areas and oil installations.

Regarding Jet Ski users, it is obligatory for riders to be at least 18 years old and maintain a distance of no less than 200 meters from the beach.

Moreover, they should not venture further away from the shore by more than 2 nautical miles. Specific safety measures must be observed, such as avoiding proximity to ships, boats, port entrances, and marinas, as well as refraining from engaging in excessive speed or dangerous show maneuvers.
