In line with the government directive to replace expatriates with citizens, several cooperative societies in the country have terminated foreigners and filled their posts with nationals.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has identified a total of 1,249 jobs in coops that could be filled with nationals. So far, 42 percent of these posts (527 positions) have been filled with nationals and enabling them to occupy leading posts in the cooperatives that were previously occupied by expatriates.
