The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has approved a proposal to increase the number of daily arriving passengers at Kuwait International Airport to approximately 3,500 passengers per day, Al Qabas daily reported.

A  memorandum regarding the increase in the number of daily arriving passengers at Kuwait International Airport specified that on the request of airlines operating at KIA the number of arriving passengers would be increased to 3500 passengers per day by the end of June or beginning of July.

Informed sources told the daily that a circular will soon be directed to airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport approving an increase in the number of maximum passengers arriving, noting that there are serious steps to gradually increase capacities.

The sources said that the previous decision included the arrival of 1,000 passengers per day to the airport, at a rate of 35 passengers per flight, but now it will rise to approximately 70 passengers per flight.
