The Criminal Investigation Department has successfully closed nearly 20 cases of criminal theft and misdemeanor by apprehending a Syrian expatriate in the Jahra region.

The expatriate not only confessed to the crimes but also led the detectives to part of the stolen items hidden in his residence in the Sulaibiya area, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to a security source, due to the rise in theft cases in the Jahra Governorate, a specialized team from the General Department of Criminal Investigation was formed to investigate and identify the culprit.

After thorough research and surveillance, they identified the unemployed suspect, whose services had been terminated by the employer for an unknown reason.

Acting on information the investigators set up an ambush and caught him red-handed.

During the interrogation, the suspect admitted to being involved in nearly 20 thefts from the homes of citizens, expatriates, and bachelors within the Jahra Governorate and added most of the stolen property had been sold by him.

Subsequently, both the suspect and the recovered stolen items were handed over to the Public Prosecution.
