A Chinese traveler at Futian Port – a border between mainland China and Hong Kong — has been taken into custody by the Chinese customs men fir trying to smuggle a number of dangerous snakes out of the country illegally. They found 14 snakes in the pockets of his clothes at one of the border points during his attempt to smuggle them abroad. The snakes have been confiscated them.

The Al-Arabiya.net on Western and Chinese media, said the customs men discovered during the inspection that the man had stuffed 14 snakes in his pockets, and was putting each of them in a separate bag of cloth, apparently trying to seize and control them.

According to the published information, the Chinese customs officers noticed that the man appeared tense and was trying to avoid looking into their eyes, so they asked to check his belongings and ended up finding 14 snakes wrapped in cotton socks or cloth bags.

The traveler appears in video footage captured by the customs authorities, wearing black clothes and a white hat, nervously examining his pockets while standing at the checkpoint. The video then cuts to border officials handling socks with snakes falling off.

Chinese customs officers placed the reptiles in plastic containers and handed them over to the relevant authorities.
