China on Wednesday mourned His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah, who passed away yesterday. “The late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was loved by the Kuwaiti people and respected by the international community, and played an important role in the development and prosperity of his country,” foreign ministry spokesman said in a statement. The late Amir, he added, contributed to peace and stability in the Middle East, and boosted relations between China and Kuwait.
