The body of a four-year-old boy was found in a freezer in Las Vegas, after the child’s mother alerted police that she was being held through smuggled letters she wrote on sticky notes which her daughter handed to her teacher.

In those smuggled letters, the mother wrote that she was being held and feared for the fate of her son, whom she had not seen for months, reports Al-Rai daily quoting the British newspaper, The Telegraph.

Police raided the home of the 35-year-old kidnapper, Brandon Tosland, and found Mason Dominguez’s body wrapped in a bag inside the refrigerator.

Police said the child’s body was believed to have been in the freezer for at least 10 weeks.

For his part, Stephen Stubbs, the mother’s attorney, revealed that his client had been physically and emotionally abused for months.

The mother had known the accused after her husband’s death, but the relationship with him became bad with the passage of time.

The accused also took her car keys and phone, in addition to controlling her accounts on social media.

The lawyer revealed that the house was fortified with locks, window alarms, motion sensors, video cameras and gates, noting that the windows were covered.

Most of the time, he added, the mother was handcuffed or locked in a room away from her seven-year-old daughter.

But after her agonizing journey, the mother devised an escape plan that involved writing short sticky notes.

Last week, when she was allowed to sleep with her daughter, she handed in papers, which were then handed over to the school and police.
