The Ministry of Interior said surveillance cameras are linked with the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior, to monitor the security situation in a number of regions of the country, around the clock.

The sources told a local Arabic daily that the Ministry of Interior project was implemented in cooperation with the cooperative societies in areas such as the Dahiyat Abdullah Al-Salem, Shamiya, Yarmouk and Qadisiyah.

The sources pointed out that the solar-powered cameras were placed in areas that are considered model areas, with the support of cooperative societies, within the framework of their societal role and as their contribution to serve the people of the region without the Ministry of Interior bearing any financial cost.

The sources expressed their hope to install cameras in all regions, given their importance in monitoring violations and maintaining security, monitor entry and exit of vehicles around the clock, which will contribute to reducing crimes, theft or armed robbery, or encroachment on private or public property.
