The Public Prosecution stated that the cases of issuance of bounced cheques increased this year, indicating that at least 1967 cases were investigated in 2021, while there were 2251 investigated cases this year, showing an increase of 14.4 percent.
The Prosecutor’s Office called on those dealing with checks to be careful in order to avoid being subject to legal accountability, indicating that the bank cashes a check as soon as it is seen, and that the criminal protection of the check begins from the date it is issued. In addition, the balance of the bank account must also be sufficient for the amount of the check.
