Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy revealed the Central Agency for Public Tenders has postponed the bidding date for the tender for the supply of smart electricity and water meters, the second stage, to January 22, instead of January 20, explaining that the ministry aims through the tender to supply and install 730 thousand smart meters, including 500,000 electricity and 230,000 water to cover all types of housing in Kuwait and replace the old mechanical meters with modern smart ones to complete the plan of digitizing the ministry’s services.

The sources indicated that in the event of closing the bids, the agency will in turn refer the bids of the competing companies to the ministry for study within one month and prepare the technical recommendation for the bids in accordance with the technical and financial standards and requirements set by the ministry to ensure the implementation of the items without prejudice to any of them.
